Prolonged (Continuous) residence permit in Bulgaria for pensioners.

One of the simplest bases for receiving – „the wealthy pensioner“. It is described in article 24 paragraph 1 point 10 of the Law on Foreigners in the Republic of Bulgaria. Specifically in this point it is said that those who have acquired the right for pension under the terms of the legislation of the Republic of Bulgaria, the country which citizen is the applicant, or other country can receive the status of Prolonged (Continuous) residence permit in Bulgaria, and have sufficient means for a covering of the expenses in Bulgaria.

And, the legislation of Bulgaria doesn’t regulate the basis for pension in any way. That is, pensioners not only on an old age, but also on any other basis, for example, pensioners on disability, military pensioners and so on fall under this paragraph of article 24.

Means which are equal admit sufficient or exceed the size of the minimum pension established in Bulgaria.

Important point – the documents confirming the status of the pensioner have to indicate that this status is provided for life or on an old age. If in the pension certificate or in the reference from the pension fund there are no such instructions, the separate reference with accurate confirmation that the status of the pensioner is provided to the citizen for life will be required. Otherwise, restriction in terms of the provided status of Prolonged (Continuous) residence permit in Bulgaria is probable.
